General Planning Services |
The City of Daytona Beach contracted Ivey Planning Group, LLC to act as a continuing consultant for planning services. To that end, IPG served as the Lead Consultant in the preparation of the City’s Evaluation and Appraisal Report. The State of Florida mandated that the City adopt its report by September 1, 2007. Normally, the preparation of an Evaluation and Appraisal Report takes between 18 months and 1 year. IPG was given approximately 8 months to complete the project.
Issues addressed in the City’s Evaluation and Appraisal Report included population projections, recreation levels of service, workforce housing, urban design standards, transportation, public schools coordination and the evaluation of all 12 elements of the Comprehensive Plan. IPG staff had many meetings with the staff members of different City departments to gather information and input on the successes and short-comings of the Comprehensive Plan.
Ivey Planning Group coordinated its work with the work of two other consulting firms. IPG was responsible for assembling the document, formatting and attended several hearings in front of the City’s Planning Board and City Commission. The City Commission adopted the Evaluation and Appraisal Report on August 1, 2007, which was a month ahead of schedule.
IPG also provided development review services during the time that the City was short-staffed. Finally, IPG provided assistance to draft and implement revisions to the Land Development Code. |

The Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce retained Ivey Planning Group to initiate a public outreach and stakeholder coordination effort in order to create a vision for SR 417 (The Greeneway) which runs through Seminole County. This major arterial toll road crosses through unincorporated Seminole County and the cities of Oviedo, Winter Springs and Sanford. Working with the Chamber of Commerce, the local governments and a large stakeholders list, Ivey Planning Group conducted public charettes/workshops to define a uniform vision and a set of goals for the development of lands along the Greeneway.
The public outreach effort exceeded six months and resulted in Seminole County, the City of Oviedo, the City of Winter Springs and the City of Sanford jointly funding an economic and resource study of the corridor. |
